No one can conquer their own vices until they discover what they are. We all have things that distract us, that fills our time. They are sneaky but remember, they are also chosen. Grace gives us an opportunity. It's the opportunity to start over, to become new, and to discover. It’s the self-discovery then refinement that recreates our vices into our story where we take weakness and make them our strengths.
Coming from my own personal story of finally finding fulfillment instead of success, Grace by Kathleen Weatherford was formed. Once musician then an agent of 15 years in the commercial insurance industry (specifically hospitality), I began metalsmithing as a hobby that quickly turned into playful jewelry making. I felt alive... like you do when you are a little girl playing dress up. No judgment, just playing dress up again and showing up as me. Coming from a male-dominated industry, I found the woman that 8 year old me would have admired. The beauty of it all, I had more time for my family and to gift time back to myself and to my husband and to my children. I'm a bespoke metal artist/ jewelry artist and the occasional used metal hunter, creating pieces of jewelry from sterling silver, 14k & 18k gold filled, bronze, brass, and coppers into unique and treasured jewelry. Each piece is a piece of art with its own self expression representing the reflection of the beauty that can be created out of the mess. What once seemed as something to be tossed away becomes something incredibly beautiful and unique. Each piece I create tells a story whether reflecting my own life or inspiration I find from one of yours. (You all have no idea the impact you make on me) As I've grown with this jewelry company and as I've met each of you, I've created pieces where you can easily create and recreate time and time again your own inspirations, story, and designs. Just like life, the designs change over time but the jewelry being made in layers, makes it where you can wear all of your pieces together or mix and match as your story unfolds.
One of my favorite charms to add to my layer is the "Phases of the Moon". It represents the ups and downs in life and to serve as a reminder that just like the phases of the moon, there will be times of light and times of darkness, times of fullness and times of emptiness but to remember, just like the phases of the moon, life will be full of light again so live in a place of hope knowing that "this will pass".
Remember, there is beauty in the mess. You are never too late to reinvent yourself. There is strength in the imperfections. You are a beautiful woman full of layers and so much depth.
